An atmosphere brimming with anticipation and excitement filled the campus grounds, as Dr. Elbert M. Galas, PSU President, was warmly welcomed with resounding enthusiasm and vibrant displays of waving colors by faculty, staff, and student leaders of Pangasinan State University – Bayambang Campus for the 2023 Hiraya: Induction Program, which was immediately followed by the President’s Hour 2023 at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium, December 7.

In addition to producing another topnotcher in the September 2023 Licensure Examination for Teachers, the Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus also takes pride in being the home of 35 new educators.

In the said board examination, PSU Bayambang demonstrated remarkable passing percentages in both BEED and BSED programs.

In biblical numerology, 7 symbolizes completion and perfection. The biblical narrative illuminates this through God creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh, highlighting the divine perfection embodied in the number 7.

For many, the number 7 holds a special significance, including our seventh University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, who marked his first anniversary on December 7. And as he returned home to PSU Bayambang on the same date to deliver his President’s Hour, he was briefly interrupted by a piece of great news— 𝗮 𝗣𝗦𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐝𝐞𝐦 𝐎𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science graduate from Batch 2022, and a PSU LIS High School product, was among the 77,777 new Licensed Professional Teachers.

Just last March, PSU Bayambang also had a 7th placer in the same board examination along with three other topnotchers, continuing the ‘7’ streak.
Ocampo’s exceptional performance, culminating in her Magna Cum Laude award, exemplifies a dedication to excellence through determination and passion, all while navigating various life challenges—being a 4Ps beneficiary and raised by a solo mother.

In the narrative of PSU Bayambang’s accomplishments, the number seven remains a symbol of perfection and an enduring testament to the pursuit of continued glory. However, in the quest for completion, PSU Bayambang’s commitment to delivering quality education and producing topnotchers will never cease.

To highlight the importance of children in the society and promote their well-being, the Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus, led by the Early Childhood Education Department, orchestrated a two-day celebration in observance of the National Children’s Month, with the theme “Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered: Ensuring the Right to Life for All” on November 30 to December 1.

Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus finished strong as its representatives owned the stage in various competitions on the second day of the University-wide Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Cultural Competition held at the Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan, yesterday, December 5.

Representing PSU-BC in the dance categories was the Matalunggaring Dance Troupe coached by Mr. Jordan S. Neri, the official dance team of the campus, who captivated the judges with their precision of skill and movements in various forms of dance earning them 1st prize in the following categories: 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐤 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, and 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. Simultaneously, the 𝐇𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐩 and 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 entries, both coached by Ms. Lara Mae Miguel, earned a commendable 2nd place in the competition.

Meanwhile, speech and theatre arts competitions were fought in a tight battle of skills as the 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 team, coached by Mr. Jeferson Austria, finished 2nd place tied with Alaminos Campus, and the 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 group, coached by Assoc. Prof. Salome M. Montemayor, earned the 3rd spot, tied with Urdaneta Campus.

PSU BC ended its campaign impressively as Joward P. Medina and Karishma H. Gupta, were hailed 𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 respectively in the Search for Mr. and Ms. PSU 2023.

The said university-wide PASUC, which was spearheaded by the Office of the University Director for Culture & Arts Affairs led by Dr. Ramil L. Dacal, aims to determine the PSU representatives for the regionals which will be hosted by the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University in January next year.

In an initiative effort to provide job opportunities for our products and explore potential job prospects, representatives from the St. Catherine of Alexandria Foundation and Medical Center (SCAFMC), a private hospital based in Pampanga, conducted a career orientation with the nursing students last November 29 at the Institute of Nursing Lecture Room.

Pangasinan State University, Bayambang Campus delegates dominated the musical scene as they hit the right notes in the various categories of musical art contests held during day 1 of the University-Wide Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Cultural Competition at Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan on December 4.

Bayambang Campus representatives’ unparalleled skill and dedication were evident as they clinched first-place spots across multiple categories including, Vocal Solo – Kundiman, Duet – OPM, Pop Solo – OPM, and Standard Chorale trained by skilled coaches, Ms. Mayvelyn Reyes, Assoc. Prof. Melanie Junio, and Asst. Prof. Maria Christina Gamo respectively.

Their victories showcased not only their talents, but also spoke volumes about their unwavering passion and commitment to the musical arts.

Meanwhile, Instrumental Solo – Guitar and Live Band representatives under the supervision of Mr. Jessie Glenn Peralta and Mr. Clifford Dela Cruz, have each secured third-place spots to give the campus another recognition and testament of brilliance not only in academics, but also in music.

The day also featured Visual Arts competitions, including Charcoal Rendering, Pencil Drawing, Painting, On the Spot Poster Making, and Photography. While results have not yet been announced, the campus anticipates remarkable outcomes stemming from the coaches’ persistence and the contestants’ undeniable artistic prowess.

The annual university-wide cultural competition sets the stage for talented PSUnians to showcase what they’re capable of, and at the same time, identify the participants who have what it takes to represent the university in the Region 1 PASUC competitions.

As Day 2 approaches, the spotlight shifts to Performing Arts, Dance Arts, and the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. PSU 2023 pageant.

The campus’ intensive pursuit aimed towards recognition and the honor to compete for the university owes its success to Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, Campus Executive Director, Mr. Jordan S.
