Galas, along with PSUโ€”Bayambang Campus Executive Director Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, and other campus and student officials, met with Hon. Rachel โ€œBabyโ€ Arenas, 3rd Congressional District of Pangasinan Representative last April for a courtesy visit.

The said visit paved the way for discussions centering on the further solidification of the relationship between the two parties and the crafting of possible relevant and impactful tie-ups and projects. It can be noted that the Municipality of Bayambang belongs to the said congressional district along with San Carlos City, and the towns of Calasiao, Malasiqui, Mapandan, and Santa Barbara.

Among the potential partnerships being eyed include the campus centralization of the application process for Rep. Arenasโ€™ scholarship initiatives. It is worth noting that a vast number of academic scholars supported by the good office of Rep. Arenas come from PSUโ€”BC. Thus, in order to help the office of the good public servant in various procedures of the said scholarship program, PSUโ€”BC, as spearheaded by the Office of the Students Services and Alumni Affairs, laid the plan of centralizing the application procedures within the campus before endorsing the list of qualified applicants to Rep. Arenasโ€™ good office.

Meanwhile, Rep. Arenas also encouraged the student-leaders to continue serving their institution and constituents despite various adversities, as she shared her personal experiences and the life lessons she learned being a public servant.

The Pangasinan State University, and its Bayambang Campus, extend their sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Rep. Rachel Arenas for her undying passion and commitment to serving the public and the PSUnians.

Taos- pusong pasasalamat, Rep. Arenas!
