Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus finished strong as its representatives owned the stage in various competitions on the second day of the University-wide Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Cultural Competition held at the Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan, yesterday, December 5.
Representing PSU-BC in the dance categories was the Matalunggaring Dance Troupe coached by Mr. Jordan S. Neri, the official dance team of the campus, who captivated the judges with their precision of skill and movements in various forms of dance earning them 1st prize in the following categories: 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐤 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, and 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. Simultaneously, the 𝐇𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐩 and 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 entries, both coached by Ms. Lara Mae Miguel, earned a commendable 2nd place in the competition.
Meanwhile, speech and theatre arts competitions were fought in a tight battle of skills as the 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 team, coached by Mr. Jeferson Austria, finished 2nd place tied with Alaminos Campus, and the 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 group, coached by Assoc. Prof. Salome M. Montemayor, earned the 3rd spot, tied with Urdaneta Campus.
PSU BC ended its campaign impressively as Joward P. Medina and Karishma H. Gupta, were hailed 𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 respectively in the Search for Mr. and Ms. PSU 2023.
The said university-wide PASUC, which was spearheaded by the Office of the University Director for Culture & Arts Affairs led by Dr. Ramil L. Dacal, aims to determine the PSU representatives for the regionals which will be hosted by the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University in January next year.
