Remaining true to one of its mission to continuously innovate, seek new knowledge and bolster creativity, Pangasinan State University โs Research team joined the kick-off ceremony of โHIHEIRIT PA MORE 2022โ held on June 22-23 in Davao City.
HEIRIT or the Higher Education Institutions Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship program, is designed to help universities meet the requirements for Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) for Technology Business Incubation (TBI) funding and train HEI managers to manage their own DOST-affiliated TBIs to cater to the growing demand for entrepreneurial support.
The activity was organized by the University of the Philippines Mindanao Growing and Developing Enterprise (UPGRADE), in partnership with UPSCALE Innovation Hub through the support of DOST-PCIEERD.
The HIHEIRET PAMORE launched a two-year structured and immersive capacity-building program for future technology incubators in selected HEIs.
In the same event, another feather was added to the institutionsโ cap as PSU was chosen as one of the Top 10 Best SUC Preparatory Training Program Grantees in the Philippines out of 147 SUCs.
With the collaborative effort of PSUโs TBI team composed of ITSO Manager Dr. Catalina C. Platon , TBI Manager Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, the TBI Members Dr, Christian Thom Tabisola, Ms. Roseann Jane Agustin, and Mr. Rocky Cardona, and the External Entrepreneur Mr. Norberto De Vera, PSU successfully qualified to undergo the training for the TBI program.
Along with the TBI Team is the Food Innovation Center (FIC) Team in Bayambang Campus led by Dr. Raquel Pambid, with Ms. Wilma De Vera, Ms. Veronica Austria, and the FIC staff
The TBI Team was responsible for the preparation of documents while University President Dr. Dexter R. Buted, as head of the agency, presented the output which is the final requirement in the selection criteria, during the assessment visit of FIC to PSU on May 10, 2022.
Providing steadfast support to the two -day activity were Dr. Buted and Vice-President for Research, Extension, Innovation, and GAD, Dr. Paulo V. Cenas.
PSU believes that innovation and technology in education is crucial to an organization’s success, thus the enormous support for its development.
