PSU Languages Department continued its extension program dubbed as  Project Reaching out to Enhance the skills and Abilities of Students with Reading Difficulties (READ) all throughout 2017 and 2018 at Tanolong Elementary and High School.

Project Read aims to provide a one-on-one reading tutorial once a week  to  the slow readers and non-readers in both the Tanolong Elementary School and Tanolong National High School , respectively.

This activity is in consonance with the mandate of the university to conduct extension activities.  It was also a response to the results of  the needs assessment survey conducted by the Extension Unit of PSU Bayambang Campus (BC) College of Teacher Education CTE and the Languages Department.

Meanwhile, the university supported this activity by providing resources and by allotting Php 30,000.00 for the production of modules and reading materials used for the said project.

The project was spearheaded by Asst.  Prof. Tuesday de Leon, together with the PSU BC LD faculty members. Constant monitoring and evaluation were also employed. This service was able to link students and teachers of PSU to the community by providing reading intervention to the pupils in the said schools.
