Over 3000 volunteers who were in their red shirts and bandanas endured the scorching heat to take part in the human cross formation yesterday, April 14, at the Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus Open Field as part of the celebration of the 75th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Red Cross.
The said activity was spearheaded by the Philippine Red Cross Pangasinan—Dagupan City-San Carlos City Chapter in partnership with PSU—BC, its Laboratory Integrated School, Bayambang National High School, and the Local Government Unit of Bayambang.
With the theme 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘴𝘢 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘯, the said activity serves as an act of unity in volunteerism which is the main core of the Philippine Red Cross and over its 75 strong years of being the country’s foremost humanitarian organization.
“𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴…𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳, 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘵,” Hon. Gabriel Christian Fernandez, SK Federation President of Bayambang, said in his message.
In addition, Public Servants Hon. Mayor Niña Jose- Quiambao, and Hon. 3rd District Rep. Ma. Rachel “Baby” Arenas offered their heartfelt felicitations and gratitude to the Philippine Red Cross in their respective recorded messages emphasizing the organization’s immense contributions to the nation and its people thru its mission of saving lives.
The PSU — BC community, supported by its Campus Executive Director Dr. Ian D. Evangelista, extended his gratitude for the opportunity given to the institution for being part of this momentous activity, which will then be etched in the history of our Alma Mater.
