MANILA, Philippines โ€“ The Pangasinan State University (PSU) was selected as Region 1 hub for Global Citizenship Education (GCED) during the two-day Signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Launching of GCED Philippines Network gathering held at the Swiss-Belhotel Blulane in Manila, October 18-19.
PSU-Bayambang Campus Executive Director Dr. Liza L. Quimson and PSU Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Razeale G. Resultay, who became the regional hubโ€™s focal persons, represented PSU President Dr. Dexter R. Buted in this Philippine Normal University-hosted gathering. PSU was one of the 18 universities that took part in the signing and launching event.
GCED Cooperation Center (GCC) Director Dr. Serafin Arviola said that the launching of the GCC Philippines and the accreditation of the Regional Hubs are necessary to establish the presence of GCC in the country and promote its networking activities for the next five years.
With PSU being selected as the GCED hub for Region 1, it will take part in the promotion of GCED and implementation of GCED-related programs in the region. Furthermore, PSU aims to help empower other institutions to support GCCโ€™s advocacies.
