The Supreme Student Council of PSU-BC, with the initiative and guidance of the Office of Students Services, conducted a welcoming day and orientation for the first-year college students themed ALPAS 2022, yesterday, September 21.
The said event commenced with a short parade followed by the orientation proper among the freshmen at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium.
Dr. Liza L. Quimson, Campus Executive Director, officially welcomed the freshmen in her opening remarks. โ€œPSU is indeed the home of quality education, and these students are fortunate that out of 5,000 applicants, they have been trimmed down to around 1,500 official students,โ€ Quimson stated.
The event also featured building orientation that aimed to brief and tour the students on the different buildings and offices inside the campus.
Furthermore, ALPAS 2022 featured the creativity and camaraderie among the students thru the respective booths prepared by various student clubs and organizations, which also served as their fundraising and recruitment activity.
The celebration ended with best booths being chosen and awarded in the awarding ceremony at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium.
The ALPAS 2022 is an effort first of its kind that is initiated by the Office of Students Services in coordination with the Supreme Student Council of PSU-BC. It is also hoped that the creation of booths by student organizations and clubs will continue every start of the academic year, adding to the school culture of PSU-BC studentry.
