The very first AKKBAY beneficiary from Bayambang is , a 31-year-old delivery boy and helper. Due to financial difficulties, Mr. Calibuso stopped in Grade 7 last 2004 and resumed Grade 8 in 2010. Although he was able to finish Grade 10 in 2013, he stopped for another 3 years before continuing Grade 11 due to poverty. After graduating from Senior High School last 2018, he needed to stop for another 4 years before continuing college. Now, he is enrolled in the BSE Social Studies course at PSU Bayambang.
Just like Mr. Calibuso, a lot of out-of-school-youths are facing immense difficulties despite their earnest desire to finish their studies. In order to address this problem, Dr. Dexter R. Buted solicited the support and cooperation of the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to help pass the ordinance that will provide financial assistance to the OSY beneficiaries of the AKKBAY Project. The AKKBAY project aims to help the OSYs in Pangasinan to finish their studies and reach their dreams.
