MARCH 9โ€” Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campusโ€™ (PSU-BC) Early Childhood Education Department (ECED) conducted a site visit to Bani Elementary School as a preparation to the kick-off activity for the upcoming launching of their community extension โ€œProject LINANGโ€ โ€“ (LIterasiya para kay Nanay at inaNG).
Mr. Lamberto De Vera, principal of Bani Elementary School warmly welcomed the department members, together with Dr. Liza Quimson, Campus Executive Director thru an official courtesy call.
Project LINANG, which is under the 4Ps (Pang Karunungan, Pang Kalusugan, Pang Kabuhayan, and Pang Teknolohiya) extension program, is an initiative of the ECE Department that aims to extend the involvement of parents in the education of Pre K-3 learners thru various training.
Its objectives include the dissemination of gender and development messages, providing assistance in the use of technology in developing the literacy of learners, and developing a love of reading among children.
The project designed a series of LINANG training for parents and grandparents of Pre K-3 learners to attain its ambitions with its partner school. To specify the focus for each training program: LINANG 1 โ€“ GAD Concepts and Messages; LINANG 2 โ€“ Technology Tools and Techno-literacy; LINANG 3 โ€“ Digital Storytelling; and LINANG 4 โ€“ IM Ready.
With the intent to strengthen families to support literacy development, these programs should create parentsโ€™ awareness of their vital role in the holistic development of the children.
