LINGAYEN, Pangasinanโ€”PSU Bayambang Supreme Student Council chief executive Jan Rlee J. De Guzman secures the second highest post in the Federated Student Government (FSG) for A.Y. 2022-2023 after she was elected as the Executive Vice President during the elections held at Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen Campus today, October 28.
A total of 90 student-leaders of their respective councils hailing from all nine campuses of PSU convene at the main campus to cast votes for their FSG bets.
Out of 90 voters, De Guzman secures 81 approvals for her Executive Vice President bid under the banner of Sandigan Party led by PSU Infanta council President who also secures 45 votes, four vote counts higher than his PSU Sta. Maria counterpart. De Guzman is the only candidate who had the highest number of votes among her fellow candidates. She is also the lone candidate from Bayambang Campus.
In an interview by the PSU BC campus press, De Guzman said that she would do her โ€˜best by becoming the second hand of the president.โ€™
โ€œThis is a huge milestone in my leadership career that I am entrusted with the second highest position in the highest student body organization of the university,โ€ De Guzman stated.
The FSG is the highest student body organization in the tiers of PSU. The president of the organization is given the authority and privilege to lobby concerns and projects before the university Board of Regentsโ€”a body of university officials who have direct business in bettering the university administration.
The elected officers will be sworn and inducted to the office before the university President Dr. Dexter R. Buted on Wednesday, November 2.
Congratulations, Jan Rlee. We are proud of you!
