Rehiyon Uno: Numero Uno. The team of state universities and colleges in Region I captured major awards during the recently- concluded National State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Fair 2022 after garnering the Best Agri- Food Product (Special Award) and clinching the 2nd Runner- up in the Best Booth/ Bazaar Competition respectively, June 28 to July 1 at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
Together with Mariano Marcos State University, University of Northern Philippines, Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, North Luzon Philippines State College, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, and our very own Pangasinan State University, Team Region I parades various local delicacies and food innovations, locally-made items and works-of-art in its booth along with the other 19 participants from the neighboring regions in the country.
Spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), this yearโs fair focused on the theme: โPromoting Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Culture, and Arts for National Development and Global Competitivenessโ with the tagline: #WeAreSUC โ Sustained Excellence, Unified Efforts, Competitive Standards.
Through different competitions and displays, the SUC Fair gave participating schools the opportunity to display and emphasize their distinctive features thru their products and performances. Specifically, eighty-one state universities and colleges from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao displayed their academic designs, innovations, and products at the exhibition.
The fair culminated with a Cultural Fashion Show of students, SUC Presidents, Regional Directors, Commissioners, and CHEd Officials which highlighted each regionโs distinct beauty and culture.
