The ABEL Department conducted its โCorrecting the Basic Misconceptions about English Soundsโ program last July 15, 2020, 8:00 am โ 5:00 pm via Zoom meeting.
The one-day seminar was participated by students and teachers outside of Pangasinan State University, Bautista Central School SPED Center and Manggan Dampay Elementary School. Participants were taught about how to pronounce sounds right. Among the speakers who taught their topics were Assoc. Prof. Tuesday C. de Leon, principal of Laboratory Integrated School and Dr. Laarni S. Balansay, the chairwoman of ABEL Dept. Assoc. Prof. de Leon taught Vowel Sounds, Emphasis and Subordination. While Dr. Balansay taught the participating students the Consonant Sounds, Blending and Juncture. Participants were given a task to accomplish and present it at the end of the lecture.
The said program was attended by Assoc. Prof. William V. Cayetano, Coordinator, Quality Assurance, Dr. Liza L. Quimson, Campus Executive Director, Dr. Joseph B. Campit, dean of CAST Building and Assoc. Prof. Gudelia M. Samson, coordinator, Extension Services with each giving their speeches and words of encouragement. Participants were given a certificate of participation.
