The training started at around 8:45 in the morning. Present in the meeting were the Early Childhood Education extension team, the Child Development worker of Tanolong and the parents with their children.
Mrs. Jessa T. Eugenio, ECED faculty member, made a roll call of those who are present in the training and greeted them. The program started with the University Prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, ASEAN Hymn, Pangasinan Humn, Bayambang Hymn and PSU Hymn respectively.
After which, Mr. Menard Soriano made a roll call and checked the attendance of the participants. Then, Asst. Prof. Rudjane C. Tunac welcomed the participants and asked how are they doing. Mrs. Gloria Solomon, the punong barangay of Tanolong gave her short message.
Then, the first topic which was the Tips in Teaching Children song was delivered by Dr. Lovejoy R. Caerlang and Mrs. Jessa T. Eugenio. They discussed ways on how to teach children song effectively. At the end of their discussion, they asked the parents to stand and follow the song, Amazing Grace taught by Dr. Caerlang. They also watched a sample video of the adopted song, Ang Panahon of Teacher Cleo and Kids.
The second topic was on storytelling. Asst. Prof. Rudjane C. Tunac let the participants watch the video she made about โAraw sa Palengkeโ. The parents as well as the students are involved as there is an interactive video. After which was the discussion of Dr. Razeale G. Resultay on the different Home Learning Activities that the parents can do to teach children effectively.
Mrs. Catherine Calub, a Non-Teaching personnel from PSU-Bayambang also shared her teaching and learning experiences with her Day Care child. She also gave some words of encouragement to parents who are having difficulty in teaching their children.
Then, an open forum was conducted. The parents asked questions on how to teach their children in answering their modules and what to do when children are bored and just wanted to do things on their own.
Lastly, Dr. Caerlang gave her words of thanks for the cooperation and active participation of the children and parents in the training. She also expressed the departmentโs gratitude for the support of the barangay officials and the Child Development Worker of Tanolong for accommodating the team.
The training ended at 12:30 in the afternoon. After which, snacks and lunch were served.
