As Pangasinan State University marked its 40th Founding Anniversary that coincided with the Christmas season, the Bayambang campus launched the Support to Mission, a fund drive for the  Home of Peace Missionaries of Charity.

Through the participation of the 118 faculty members and 18 student organizations, the university generated funds for the said activity by collecting plastic bottles spanning from August 19 to December 16, 2019.

โ€œIsa sa mga naging hakbang upang makalikom ng pondo ay ang pangongolekta ng mga plastic bottles na sinimulan noong Agosto. May dalawang bentahe ang aktibidad na ito:  una ay nakatulong ka na sa mga misyonaryo at  ikalawa ay nakatulong ka pa sa kalikasanโ€ [One of the strategies used to source out funds is through collecting plastic bottles which started in August. There are two advantages of the activity:  one, you help the missionaries; two, you save nature from the negative impacts of plastic bottles], Associate Professor Mary Ann Macaranas, the campus extension coordinator, said.

After the four-month bottle collection, the campus was able to give  Php 40, 000, clothes, and groceries to the missionaries.
