The Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus Languages Department shared resources, effort, and time as it partook in the Brigada Eskuwela of Tanolong National High School and Tanolong Elementary School in Bayambang, Pangasinan, May 28-June 2, 2018.
The PSU BC staff and English & Filipino major students, together with Tanolong stakeholders, embodied the Filipino core culture of bayanihan by cleaning the school premises and organizing the classrooms to create a conducive teaching-learning environment. Moreover, with the university’s support, the department was able to donate school supplies, teaching materials, and cleaning necessities amounting to Php 5,000.00.
The education sector’s role isn’t only limited to the academe but also extends to the local communities. Realizing that the academe’s responsibility goes beyond the four corners of the classroom and that it must foster better relations with the community is a manifestation of accountability, compassion, and sincere acts of service – the real reflection of the language of love. Indeed, small things, when done with pure love, can fulfill aspirations and can create big differences.
