The Food Innovation Center (FIC) at Pangasinan State University _ Bayambang Campus continues to create food innovations that transcend current challenges in the market.

This has been proven in the recently concluded Technology Pitch for Inventors during the Virtual Seminar Writeshop on Technology Commercialization and Pitch Day for Faculty and Full-time Researchers among IP-TBM offices of ILAARRDEC held on July 19-23 and 26 via Zoom. In the said event, Dr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin won 1st place and the Best Pitch during the Technology Pitch Presentation.

Dr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin represented PSU-FIC and participated in the 5-day training which includes technology commercialization, marketing and branding, business plan preparation, IP valuation among others. After the rigorous training about poster and pitch preparation, Dr. Agustin together with Mr. Adrian D. Veloso and Mr. John Alex Bumanlag, video editors, created the poster and video needed for the Technology Pitch Day.

Dr. Agustin’s Technology Pitch focused on Tupig which is Pangasinan’s very own sweet delicacy. Moreover, the technology pitch addresses the problems and solutions made for the native food.

The technology was invented by PSU-FIC Researchers and Technology Developers compose of Dr. Raquel C. Pambid, Head, FIC Center and Coordinator, R&D office, Dr. Wilma De Vera, FIC Head Manager, Prof. Veronica Austria, Chair, Technology and Livelihood Education and Mr. Cyril John A Domingo, Member, Technology Team have created an innovative technology which prolongs the native delicacy’s shelf-life and over-all presentation.
