Pangasinan State University’s 40th Founding Anniversary kicked off with a vast array of activities relished by the university officials, faculty members and staff headed by Dr. Dexter R. Buted last July 01, 2019.

This once-in-a-lifetime celebration of PSU’s epic journey to excellence and quality will be from July to December constituting to a five-month long celebration by the university.

In the opening ceremonies, PSUnians paid tribute to the Philippine and PSU flags along President Buted’s greetings of love, success and peace in this notable milestone as every PSUnian celebrates PSU’s Ruby Anniversary. The President promised that the university will continue to be as radiant as ruby in its pursuit for excellence and quality.

Afterwards, the heap of PSUnians composed of officials, teaching and non-teaching staff from the nine campuses headed on for the opening parade which routed to Lingayen town proper back to PSU premises.

Moreover, a University Mass was conducted before everyone gathered at Dr. Telesforo Boquiren Convention Hall for the University Unity Lunch.

In the afternoon, PSU Cares Extension Program benefited three coastal barangays of Lingayen as forty garbage bins were distributed. This “Think Green” Local Project through the JCI Lingayen Bagoong was made possible by Mr. Christian Thom Tabisola and Mr. Christopher Mabazza at the Baywalk, Capitol Grounds.

Said initiative aimed to lessen the wastes polluting waters preventing it from further ruin, thus promoting UNSDG #13 Climate Action and #14 Life below Water.

Furthermore, building markers and names were finally unveiled honoring some officials who once served as key administrators of the university. Among the buildings are the Dr. Telesforo Boquiren Convention Hall, Dr. Victoriano Estira Legacy Building, Dr. Marciano Cantor Infirmary Building and the Dr. Reynaldo Segui Science Building.

At last, the Ruby Anniversary Opening Program concluded after the Wreath Laying to Departed PSU Officials and after the Simbolo 2019 marker where the PSU Lion of Excellence was unveiled.
